Bank payments for businesses and nonprofits. One-time or recurring. No card processor.

A checkout box where your customer enters their bank details and approves the payment — one time or repeating. Your own bank collects it. No processor, no percentage, nobody who can hold your money. Give a discount for it if you like — 0 to 90%.

For contractors, landlords, service businesses, consultants, nonprofits — anyone paid on a contract, a deposit, or every month, who is tired of giving 3% to a card company.

Two ways to use it, same price, same box:

WordPress

A plugin. Upload, activate, enter your bank details, put a shortcode on a page.

Any other site

One line of code in any code block or embed. No install, nothing to host.

Works with

WordPress · Wix · Squarespace · Square Online · Drupal · Joomla · Shopify · Webflow · Weebly · GoDaddy · Carrd · Ghost · plain HTML · anything with a code block or embed

Wix, Square Online and some others put custom code on their paid plans; if you can add an HTML embed to a page, ACHplug goes in it.

Watch it — 90 seconds

Nine steps, playing by themselves. Pick your kind of site.

Three steps

  1. Install it. WordPress: Plugins → Add New → Upload the zip → Activate. Any other site: paste one line of code where the box should go.
  2. Enter where the money goes, and your discount. Payee name, routing number (checked against the Federal Reserve directory), account number, and the discount — 0 to 90%, changed any time. Then the two things your bank needs to collect for you; here is exactly what to ask them.
  3. Put the box on a page. WordPress: [achplug name="What you sell" price="20"]. Any other site: the one line below. That's it. A customer chooses bank, enters their routing and account number, approves, presses Buy. It appears on your Collect page; you download one file, upload it to your bank, and the money lands in your account. Press Received and they get their receipt.
<!-- any non-WordPress site: one line -->
<script src="https://achplug.com/plug.js" data-name="What you sell" data-price="20"></script>

What your customer sees

Three screens. Under two minutes. They never leave your site.

1. The box

Card price and bank price side by side, with your discount worked out. They press Pay from my bank.

2. The form

Name, email, routing number, account number. Their bank's name appears as they type. Repeat every month, if you allow it — for 12 payments, until a date, or until they stop. One sentence of authorization. Buy.

3. Thank you

Who they paid, at what address, how much, from which account, the reference — and that the receipt comes when it clears.

Their own page

Every email carries a link to a page that is theirs: every payment they've approved, Revoke on any repeating one, every receipt. No password.

Their account number is encrypted the moment it arrives. You see the last four digits. The full number appears only inside the file your bank reads.

One-time or recurring — a contract paid off, a service kept up, a monthly gift

Card processors charge the most for exactly this. It is built in.

For businesses

A deposit today. A roofing contract in 12 payments. A monthly service. A yearly membership. Switch repeats on in Settings; each payment appears on Collect by itself when it is due.

For nonprofits

A one-time gift, or a monthly donor. Donation mode takes the discount off, lets the donor pick the amount, and puts your EIN and the IRS acknowledgment line on every receipt.

For your customer

They approve once, on your site: every month, for 12 payments, or until a date. Before each one they get an email saying it is coming. Every email has Pause and Stop. Nothing is ever collected that they did not approve, and they can end it without calling anyone.

Charging extra for paying over time makes the sale a credit sale under federal law and needs disclosures; most sellers price the contract once and offer a discount for paying in full instead. That decision is yours — ACHplug handles either.

It adapts to your site

The box carries no font and no colours of its own. It takes your theme's type and text colour, and four variables set the accent, background, line and corner radius — the WordPress plugin reads them from your theme automatically. Same box, two different sites:

A bakery, serif theme, red accent

A software shop, dark theme, blue accent

Why bank payments

No percentage.

A card processor takes about 3% and 30¢ of every sale. Your bank collecting an ACH payment costs cents, or nothing.

Nobody can freeze it.

A processor can hold your money for weeks on a complaint you never see. When your own bank collects, it is in your account and it is yours.

Recurring, with the customer in control.

A customer approves a repeat once — 12 payments on a contract, or a monthly service — and can pause or stop from the link in every email. Nothing is charged that they did not approve.

Nothing leaves your control.

Orders, the journal and the authorizations live in your dashboard. Your customers' account numbers are encrypted; you see the last four.

Setting up collection with your bank takes one call. Here is what to say, word for word.  ·  About the coming Automatic option and why we recommend the file.
